The view of the himalayas from within the Deprung Monastery Tibet. The monastery lies a few kilometers out of Lhasa. It is a monastic university providing religious education to monks from age 8 to 70. In its heyday it held more than 7000 monks within its walls.

Prayer flags overlooking Mount Everest Tibet. Flags are inscribed with symbolsprayers and mantras and are placed outside for the wind to carry the beneficent vibrations across the countryside. Prayer flags are said to bring happiness long life and prosperity to the flag planter and those in the vicinity.

This photo was taken in the Hamlet of Thokarpa Nepal in 2007. The area is located approximately 6 hours by bus and a 2 hour trek from Kathmandu. It is situated on the side of a mountain range and the people survive on cornrice and native vegetation. The two girls were my students at the school. This photography captures the spirit of the Nepalese people their positive attitude love for nature and their simple life.
